AT LEAST three church workers have been invited by police for questioning in relation to the burglary that happened in the Archdiocesan Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Cebu City.
Two gold bracelets were stolen from the image of Our Lady of Guadalupe.
The theft was discovered last Monday but it was only reported to the police last Thursday.
Jun Rivera, one of the church caretakers, said the theft was immediately reported to the barangay but it took long for them to report to the police as they had to check first if the bracelets were really missing.
SPO1 Ritchell Tejano, of the Guadalupe police station, the thief may have used a stick to fish out the two bracelets.
It was the fourth case of church burglaries in the city this year./CORRESPONDENT CHITO O. ARAGON
