Everyone will get their turn to work at City Hall–official

01:48 PM June 28, 2013

Be patient. Everyone will be given a chance to be employed at the Talisay City Hall.
Vice Mayor-elect Romeo Villarante made this call to about 50 Liberal Party supporters who were disappointed at not being hired as a job order (JO) employee yesterday.
About 1,000 JO employees were hired yesterday and would start work on Monday.
“We will take turns on being JO employees. So that all who wanted to work can have their chance,” City Councilor Danny Caballero said.
Caballero was referring to the two to three months contract of employment for the JO workers.
So those who failed to be hired today could apply again for the second batch of hiring in two to three months, he said.
Caballero also said he was saddened by LP supporters’ claims of two names appearing on the list and of rival party’s supporters being the ones who were hired.
A barangay Lagtang resident, and an LP supporter said she was disappointed that she couldn’t see her name on the job order list.
I was upset to see people who supported to the other party but they are given the priority to get the job, the LP supporter, who refused to be named said in Cebuano.
Caballero said he had already forwarded their complaints to the Talisay City Hall Human Resources department.
Villarante said an executive officer had the discretion to hire as many JO workers he would need but this would be subject for the approval of the mayor./Correspondent Gabriel C. Bonjoc
