The Chiefs of head coach Koy Banal will be taking on the San Sebastian Stags in the curtain-raiser set for 4 p.m. while the Perpetual Help Altas and the Emilio Aguinaldo College Generals open their campaigns against each other at 6 p.m.

All eyes are expected to be on the Chiefs which went 6-2 (win-loss) in the preseason including a perfect 4-0 against NCAA opponents, a list that has defending champions San Beda on it.

The team is being led by do-it-all guard Nard Pinto along with Fil-Canadian James Forrester, Prince Caperal and the enigmatic Keith Agovida, who resurfaced with Arellano after being gone from the spotlight following what was a promising juniors career that once saw him score 82 points in one game.

They are set to battle a Stags squad that is coming off a, 69-74 loss to Letran during opening weekend. /Correspondent Jonas Panerio
