3 UNA senators-elect to take oath before Binay, Enrile
MANILA, Philippines – Three members of the United Nationalist Alliance (UNA), who won in the last May senatorial race, will take their oaths of office on Friday.
Re-elected Senator Gregorio Honasan and Senator-elect Jose Victor Ejercito will take their oaths before Vice President Jejomar Binay in his office in Pasay City while Senator-elect Nancy Binay will take hers before resigned Senate President Juan Ponce-Enrile, said a text advisory from the Office of the Vice President.
Nancy Binay, who ranked 5th in the senatorial race, is the Vice President’s daughter.
Before this, Nancy Binay was scheduled to pay a courtesy call to Acting Senate President Jose “Jinggoy” Estrada at 3 p.m. this Wednesday.
Estrada was appointed to take the place of Enrile, who resigned as Senate President, early this June.
