After 20 years, the law finally caught up with two of Cebu’s most wanted men.
Felix Omandac and Cresente Alison Jr. were arrested in La Carlota, Negros Occidental for the 1994 murder of Reden Mendoza in Carcar City, Cebu.
Police said Omandac was 19 while Alison was 22 when they were accused of killing Mendoza.
Both men, however, denied the accusation.
“We thought that we were free, because honestly, we did not kill Mendoza. Dodong (Alison) and I decided to start anew so we went to Negros Occidental,” said Omandac.
Alison said that they worked as furniture makers and farmers in La Carlota, Negros Occidental.
“After a while, we had girlfriends and then we got married. We have a happy family thinking that we don’t have any problems with authorities,” Alison said.
He admitted that they were shocked when police officers picked them up last weekend.
P03 Eriberto Dacalos of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) said an informant helped them locate the suspects, who both have warrants of arrest for murder.
Dacalos said both suspects each had a P75,000 reward on their heads and the informant would be given this reward./Correspondents Carine M. Asutilla and Chito O. Aragon
