Waminal, Gentallian score RSC wins in ALA-Summit Fight Night in Kalunasan
JESS RHEY Waminal of Bukidnon and University of the Visayas’s (UV) Kenneth Gentallian put up dominating performances as they logged Referee Stopped Contest (RSC) victories in last Sunday’s ALA-Summit Drinking Water Fight Night amateur fight card at the barangay Kalunasan sports complex in Cebu City.
Waminal needed only two rounds to dispose Bryan Abaquita of Talisay City via RSC in their 55-kilogram bout. The referee ended the bout at the 1:55 mark of the second round.
Gentallian, on the other hand, tagged Joshua Bacus with a vicious punch at the 1:13 mark of the third round in their 52kg match to snag the victory.
Meanwhile, Jeo Santisima of Mandaue City won over Raul Yu of Butuan City in their 56kg bout in the experienced amateur category.
UV’s Christian Bacolod also defeated Mark Rotilles of the Philippine-Australian Boxing Club in Mandaue in the 52kg division but Jeffrey Stella avenged Rotilles’ loss by beating UV’s Ritchie Montealto also in the 52kg division.
Talisay City’s Kit Garces won over Romel Tunacao of UV in the 44kg division and UV absorbed another loss after Ariel Sibay lost to Cabancalan High School’s Marco Pomar in the 44kg division.
