MAASIN CITY—The headless body of a boy was found floating off Limasawa Island by fishermen on Saturday.
The boy was believed to be one of the passengers of the ferry boat MV Mt. Carmel of Medallion, which sank on June 14 off Burias Island in Masbate.
He had died from drowning about two weeks ago based on an examination conducted by Limasawa rural health physician Jilby Cabañez, according to Police Officer 2 Warner Senoc of the Limasawa police.
This bolstered the belief that he was a victim of the sea tragedy, Senoc said in a phone interview.
The body was buried on Sunday at a Catholic cemetery in Limasawa. Jani Arnaiz, Inquirer Visayas
