Visiting runners rule Hunat Sugbo Run 3

Runners from Negros province showed their prowess in the 21-kilometer run of yesterday’s 3rd Hunat Sugbo Run: Dagan Para ni Maning at the Ayala Center Cebu’s The Terraces.

Jenelyn Lopez and Mereeis Ramirez of Dumaguete and Silay City’s Jason Agravante managed podim finishes in the 21k race of this event that aims to raise funds for the benefit of Cebu Parklane International Hotel’s  medical mission on July 6 in partnership with the Jesu Cristi Community of Cebu and the Gualandi Volunteer Service Programme Inc.

Lopez topped the women’s 21k with a time of one hour, 34 minutes and 14 seconds  while Ramirez finished second (1:35.33). Cebuana Cristy Tutor clocked 1:39.13 for third place.

Agravante, meanwhile, lorded the men’s side with a time of  1:12.58, beating  Cebuano ultra marathoner Noel Tillor, who clocked 1:15.33 for second place.  Riez Enriquez rounded off the top three runners with a time of 1:17.46.

In the 21k foreign division, Isaac Simat bested fellow Kenyan runners Abraham Missous and Douglas Mwiti with a time of 1:12.56.

Davao City’s Joebert Carolino ruled the 10k category with a time of 33:17 while Mary Joy Tabal lorded the distaff side by checking in at 39:01.

Cherry Andrin (40:40) and her older sister, Jhean (43:47 ), won second and third places, respectively. Joel Delposo clocked 33:34 while Michael Largo finished in 34:25 for runner up honors in the men’s race.

Lovely Andrin topped the 5k female division with a time of 21:34 while John Daryl Manos claimed the first place in the men’s side with a time of 17:01.
