MANILA, Philippines—The powerful Commission on Appointments unanimously confirmed the nominations of 130 military officers in the plenary.
Only the confirmation of Alex Albano, who was nominated to the rank of brigadier general, did not reach the plenary after it was deferred by the Commission’s committee on national defense.
Nueva Ecija Representative Rodolfo Antonino said Albano’s nomination was deferred on his own request, after a committee member opposed his nomination.
Antonino initially moved to block the nominations of those who would be promoted to the rank of major general pending review of the promotion system of the Armed Forces of the Philippines.—Maila Ager, INQUIRER.net
