COUPLE NABBED IN GUADALUPE THEFT

A COUPLE was arrested following a snatching incident in barangay Guadalupe, Cebu City.

Cristian Saballa, 19, and Prety Rose Maneva, 20, were arrested after a chase with barangay tanod past 10 a.m. yesterday.

Police said Mary Ann Requirme was walking on Modesta Street when her shoulder bag was grabbed by the suspects who were on a motorcycle.

A motorist who saw the commotion alerted the barangay tanods.

The tanods gave a chase and cornered the couple in the corner of Bacayo and Veloso Streets.

The tanods then turned over the couple to the police.

Senior Supt. Mariano Natu-el Jr., director of the Cebu City police, said an investigation will be made to determine if the couple had something to do in the death of a call center agent in barangay Kasambagan, Cebu City last Thursday morning.

Jovanni Libunao De Jesus was walking on F. Cabahug Street when a woman grabbed his bag.

De Jesus failed to let go of the bag.

A man on a motorcycle arrived and shot De Jesus in the chest.

The woman rode on the motorcycle driven by the assailant and fled.

2 WANTED MEN FALL

THE long arm of the law caught up with two men, who had been in hiding for 18 years.

Felix Omandac, 38, and Cresente Alison Jr., 41,  are wanted for murder charges. They were arrested yesterday morning in Lacarlota City in Negros Occidental.

The two men were tagged as suspects in the 1994 killing of their neighbor Reden Mendoza in barangay Dapdap, Carcar City, southern Cebu.

Regional Trial Court Judge Celso Gimenez of Branch 5 in Cebu City issued arrest warrants against the two.

The arrests were made by joint operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group in Central Visayas and Region 10.
