Foundation offers scholarship assistance for Cebu residents

THE Juanito I. King Foundation Inc. (JIKFI) offers scholarship assistance to interested students who are residents of Cebu City.

JIKFI executive director Kenneth Raymund King and STC-Cebu College Dean Sr. Rosie Mendoza, ICM, signed a memorandum of agreement last June 7 for the said undertaking.

All applicants will undergo screening by JIKFI and STC.

JIKFI’s scholarship program started with the children of production workers of Nito’s Auto Supply and King’s Quality Foods as their beneficiaries.

Today, along with its growth and the capacity to serve more, JIKFI provides more scholarship opportunities.

The recent development with STC-Cebu enables JIKFI to provide four more scholarship grants to the poor but deserving students interested in taking up BS in Social Works.

Why BS in Social Works?

As a non-government organization (NGO), JIKFI sees the important contribution of the social workers. Their expertise and trainings are essential in responding to the needs of the people in distress, and assist other NGOs.

The scholarship is aimed to augment the rising need for social workers in the country.

Privileges

This new batch of scholars will automatically become members of the JIKFI Scholars Guild.

As a part of the current pool of more than 60 scholars, they are entitled to member privileges such as skills training, personality development, values formation, team building and buddy tutorial activities.

As a PCNC accredited institution, JIKFI now accepts partnerships for its education programs. PCNC stands for Philippine Council for NGO Certification.
