Several domestic flights cancelled due to bad weather—DOTC

MANILA, Philippines —The Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) has announced the cancellation of several domestic flights due to adverse weather conditions and “aircraft situation”.

“Cancelled flight due to weather condition at Busuanga: 5J-531 MNL-Busuanga and 5J-532 Busuanga-MNL,” DOTC announced around 3 p.m. in its official twitter account @DOTCPhilippines.

“Cancelled flight due to weather condition: 5J-902 Caticlan-MNL,” it said in a tweet around 2:30 p.m.

More flights to and from Busuanga were cancelled around 4 p.m. “Cancelled flights due to bad weather at Busuanga: 5J-539 MNL-Busuanga and 5J-540 Busuanga-MNL,” DOTC tweeted.

Flights 2P-033 MNL-Busuanga and 2P-034 Busuanga-MNL have also been cancelled by DOTC at around 4:45 p.m.

Several flights to and from Caticlan were also cancelled due to “aircraft situation.”

“Cancelled flights due to aircraft situation: 2P-045 MNL-Caticlan, 2P-046 Caticlan-MNL, 2P-071 MNL-Caticlan, and 2P-076 Caticlan-MNL,” it said.

Earlier Thursday, a Low Pressure Area intensified into a tropical depression that was named “Fabian,” according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration.

“Fabian” was last observed 290 kilometers West of Iba, Zambales, with maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour near the center and moving north northwest at 11 kph.
