Ilocos Norte government employee shot dead

LAOAG CITY—A local government employee in Laoag city, Ilocos Norte was shot and killed by two men as she was driving to work on Wednesday morning, police said.

Felicitas Jose, 61, an employee at the city’s treasury office, was with two companions in her Hyundai Grace van when two men on a motorcycle attacked her in Barangay Lagui-Sail here at past 7 a.m.

Her companions, Jonalyn Asuncion and Rojean Diego, were unhurt but they were taken to the Gov. Roque B. Ablan Sr. Memorial Hospital for a medical examination.

Investigators recovered from the crime scene at least seven bullet shells from an M-16 Armalite rifle.
