Canadian faces charges for molesting minor

CHARGES were filed against a Canadian accused of  molesting a 15-year-old girl inside his condominium in barangay Apas, Cebu City last week.

Garry Dwayne Kevol stands is charged with violating Republic Act 7610 or the Special Protection of Children Against Child Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act.

A team from the National Bureau of Investigation in Central Visayas (NBI-7) arrested Kevol inside  his Toyota Altis sedan  last Friday. A minor was seen inside Kevol’s car.

In a sworn statement,  the girl said  she and Kevol met at a mall in Mandaue City.

She said she boarded Kevol’s car and they went to a condominium in Cebu City where they had sex. She said she was later paid P1,500.

The NBI-7 received a report that Kevol was seen bringing several minors inside his condominium.

After surveillance and examination of security camera footage, the team confirmed the reports against Kevol.

Last Friday, the NBI-7 conducted an operation which led to Kevol’s arrest. Kevol refused to issue any statement.

The minor was turned over to the custody of the Department of Social Welfare and Development while Kevol is detained at the NBI-7 stockade.

Charges were filed  before the Cebu city prosecutor’s office. Reporter Ador Vincent Mayol
