Police recovered two more cars that were allegedly pawned and sold to private individuals by two women.
Chief Insp. Romeo Santander, chief of the Intelligence Branch of the Cebu City Police Office, said they recovered last Saturday a Toyota Corolla Vios and a Hyndai Accent in San Fernando town, southern Cebu.
Santander also said that they were looking for a third female suspect, whom they believed to be a member of the car theft group.
Santander was referring to Gionna Marie Geolina, 36, and Maria Roselyn Olid, 40, who were arrested last Friday.
Geolina and Olid would rent the cars and instead of returning them, they would sell them to unsuspecting buyers.
Last Friday, police recovered three vehicles allegedly stolen by the group.
Meanwhile, Cebu Provincial Police Chief Patrocinio Comendador also ordered province police to deploy men in choke points in the province to deter thieves stealing cars from passing through the province.
Comendador also warned second-hand car shop owners to verify the authenticity of car documents before buying them./Correspondents Chito O. Aragon and Joy Cherry Quito
