Shot dead
A 48-YEAR-OLD man was shot dead by his neighbor in barangay Montealegre, Tuburan town, northwest of Cebu last Sunday.
Roel Manit Lawas sustained multiple gunshot wounds in his body. He was declared dead by doctor at the hospital.
The suspect, Ronie Talaugon, remains at large.
Police investigation showed that Lawas and a neighbor Jelly Brigoli were drinking liquor when Talaugon arrived, pulled out a gun and shot Lawas several times.

Article continues after this advertisementA baker was arrested after he was caught stealing cash and jewelry amounting to P15,000 from a boarding house in sitio Riles, barangay Basak, Mandaue City.
Romerico Semorio, 27, of Tandag, Suridao del Sur, was detained at the Basak Police Station pending the filing of theft charges.
Investigation showed that Semorio was found inside the house when the boarding house owners arrived from Church. Semorio fled and was able to escape.
The couple checked their rooms and found it in disarray. They reported the burglary to police, who conducted a follow-up operation and arrested Semorio, whom the couple positively identified as the burglar./REporter Jucell Marie Cuyos
Troubled wife
A misunderstanding with her husband prompted a 26-year-old wife to try to kill herself.
The wife tied a wire on her neck inside the rented room of her sister-in-law in barangay Guizo, Mandaue last Sunday.
She was already unconscious when she was found by her sister-in-law.
A neighbor managed to re to revive the woman before she was brought to the Mandaue City hospital for treatment./Reporter Jucell Marie P. Cuyos
Stabbed, wounded
A 23-year-old man landed in the hospital after he was stabbed by his drinking buddy in barangay Gun-ob, Lapu-Lapu City last Saturday.
Jay Quimada of barangay Pajo, Lapu-Lapu City was stabbed in the back.
Investigation showed that Quimada had a drinking session with Kim Malingin and some friends when Malingin and Quimada argued.
At the height of their argument, Malingin pulled out a knife and stab Quimada. Malingin fled after the attack./Correspondent Norman V. Mendoza.
