Boy hangs self after scolding
A 14-year-old boy allegedly hanged himself after he was scolded by his parents in barangay Cogon, Compostela town, northern Cebu.
The boy, a third year student in the town’s national high school, was found by an eight-year-old neighbor suspended from the beam of his room with a rope tied around his neck around 7 p.m Saturday.
Before he was found dead, the boy had sent a text message to one of his classmates where he warned that something bad will happen to him, said SPO1 Larry Fernandez of the Compostela police, .
The text message read: “bay, anhi na lang nya mos amoa kay magbuhat kog kalingawan diri kay magtiguk na ko (Come in our house because I will do something. I’ll die already).”
Police said the boy may have felt bad after he was scolded by his mother on suspicion that he stole his parents’ money.
There were no signs of foul play in the death, police said.
