Man stabbed to death by neighbors

A 45-year-old man was stabbed to death by his two neighbors in a drinking session in barangay Subangdaku, Mandaue City.

Police said Nilo Narsa, a native of Samar province, argued with his attackers before he was repeatedly stabbed around 2 a.m. yesterday.

The suspects, Angelo Empleo, 37 and Eden Contapay, 33, were arrested in a follow-up operation. The two will be charged for murder, said SPO2 Marcos Noval Jr. of the Investigation and Detection Management Branch (IDMB) of the Mandaue City Police Office (MCPO).

Police said trouble broke out when Empleo kept interrupting Narsa while the victim was talking.

A witness told police that the victim was arguing with the two suspects before he was stabbed in the chest with an icepick by Empleo.

When the victim fell on the ground, Contapay stabbed him with a kitchen knife.

Police said Empleo was heard saying “buhi paka? (Are you still alive?”)

Police said the witness quoted Contapay telling the bloodied victim “Wala baya ka kahibalo abilidad nako sa amoa (You don’t know who I am in our place)”.

Police said the suspects left the victim slumped on the ground.

The victim died with four stab wounds in the chest.

Police said Nersa lived with his cousin in sitio Back Matimco when he arrived in Cebu two months ago.

The suspects are detained at the Subangdaku police station.
