‘Avoid encounter, yield’

POLICE urged crime suspects to surrender to avoid a bloody encounter with authorities.

Senior Supt. Mariano Natu-el Jr., chief of the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO), made the call following the death of James Flores, who allegedly engaged the police in a shootout in barangay Tisa Wednesday night.

Flores was one of the suspects in the killing of PO2 Gerlito Estremos.

Natu-el said operatives of the CCPO are conducting constant operations to arrest the perpetrators in two recent killings in the city.

Police are hunting the assailant in the killing of Richard Cajegas, a police asset and errand boy of the Regional Special Operation Group (RSOG).

Cajegas was about to board his motorcycle when he was shot repeatedly last Tuesday morning.

Police are also tracking down the man who shot dead Jenrey Flores in barangay Lahug, Cebu City last week.

Natu-el said investigators have already identified the culprits in the two attacks.
