GRANDMASTERS Oliver Barbosa, Mark Paragua and John Paul Gomez expressed confidence of logging better results in the upcoming Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games (AIMAG) from June 29 to July 6 in Incheon, Korea.

“It’s a prestigious tournament kaya medyo excited ako. I’ll do my best to win and bring honors to our country,” said Paragua who, along with Barbosa tied for second in the recent $100,000 Manny Pacquiao Asian Continental Chess Championships.

“We are facing a very tough field. Let’s just hope that we can all perform well,” added Paragua, winner of the 2012 National Open Chess Championships dubbed as Battle of the Grandmasters held in Kalibo, Aklan last July.

Paragua and Barbosa will also join compatriot GM Wesley So in the 2013 World Chess Cup in Tromso, Norway from Aug. 10 to Sept. 5.
