Fire burns down apartment, businesses in Naga City

NAGA CITY, Philippines—An apartment building, a tailor’s shop and a restaurant were burned in an hourlong fire that hit an area here just across from this city’s police station.

Fire officers under Naga Fire Chief Inspector Rachel R. Verbo have yet to determine the cause of the fire that destroyed the apartment building rented out to students and professionals as well as a restaurant and a tailor’s shop.

Ten firetrucks from Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Naga City and surrounding municipalities and the local Chinese fire brigade volunteers responded to the alarm raised by affected residents on Barlin Street, located just across the street from the Naga City Police Station and the historic Plaza Barlin.

The fire, which started around 8:30 p.m., was put out around 10 p.m.

No one was hurt in the fire.
