The BIR identified the traders as Catherine Zafra, owner of Wellhand Trade Center, and Joselito Nicolas of Gooodlucky Well Trading and Towing Services.
They were sued for violating the National Internal Revenue Code.
Investigation showed that Zafra failed to file income tax returns for taxable years 1999 to 2012. She was also assessed with a total tax liability of P8.98 million for taxable year 2005 inclusive of surcharge and interest.
On the other hand, Nicolas, whose clients include the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) and San Miguel Foods Inc., was assessed with a total tax liability of P41.7 million for deficiency taxes covering taxable years 20009, 2011 and 2012.
