Negative ballistic tests

THE FIREARM of the suspected gunman for the murder of Antonio “Tony” Ouano tested negative in the ballistics tests conducted by the police yesterday.

Chief Insp. Rex Lomente, chief of Investigation and Detection Management Branch (IDMB), told Cebu Daily News that the .45 pistol recovered from Michael Ancero, 29, yielded negative in the cross-match with the shells taken from the crime scene.

Michael Ancero, 29, was arrested last Aug. 4 following a motorbike holdup.

He was picked up after he was identified by robbery victim Cheryl Saberon.

Police suspected that Ancero was a member of a gun-for-hire group that killed Ouano, which he denied.
