Cop’s motorcycle parked outside police camp stolen

ARE motorcycle thieves becoming bolder?

A motorcycle owned by a policeman was stolen while it was parked outside the headquarters of the Mandaue City Police Office (MCPO) in barangay Centro, Mandaue City yesterday morning.

The Honda XRM motorcycle owned by PO2 Brian Berenguer was parked in front of the office of the Traffic Management Unit (TMU).

Berenguer, an operative of the City Public Safety Company, discovered that his motorcycle with plate number 5089-GD was missing at 4:10 a.m.

PO1 Crestito Raboy, investigator of MCPO’s Investigation and Detection Management Branch (IDMB), said that an eatery owner saw a man pushing the motorcycle and turned its engine on in front of the Bureau of Fire Protection office.

The witness thought that the man pushing the motorcycle was the owner of the vehicle.

The eatery owner was asked to view a set of photos of suspected criminals but failed to recognize one of them as the one who stole the policeman’s motorcycle./REPORTER JUCELL MARIE P. CUYOS
