Argao rehabilitation center holds summer youth camp for children
A SUMMER camp was recently held for 57 youths from the Regional Rehabilitation Center for Youth (RRCY) in Argao town, southern Cebu.
The three-day event was mounted by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in Central Visayas and dubbed “A search for identity: strengthening of socially acceptable behavior and life skills.”
Activities were held to provide children in conflict with the law with interventions to help them communicate and interact better with people before reuniting with their families and the community.
“Cooperation and unity among the youth is the ultimate goal of this summer camp,” said center head Bibiana Horvath.
The youths learned life skills such as prioritization, budgeting and tasking of responsibilities.
One speaker discussed effective communication, how to improve listening skills and how to lessen communication gaps while inside the rehabilitation center.
