MANILA, Philippines—Western sections of Luzon and Visayas will experience rains caused by the southwest monsoon on Wednesday, when the country celebrates its Independence Day, the state weather bureau said.
“Luzon and Visayas will experience cloudy skies with light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms. Mindanao will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms,” the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration, or Pagasa said.
Southwest monsoon is the dominant weather system during the rainy season.
Temperatures in Metro Manila will register between 25 and 33 degrees Celsius, Pagasa said in its extended weather outlook.
Moderate to occasionally strong winds blowing from the southwest to south will prevail over Luzon and its coastal waters will be moderate to occasionally rough, Pagasa said.
Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the southwest to west with slight to moderate seas, Pagasa added.
