Mary Joy Tabal continued her winning ways in local road races as she lorded the 10-kilometer race of the first-ever A-Plus All Weather Paint Fun Run yesterday.
Tabal crossed the finish line at the Ayala Center Cebu’s The Terraces in 39 minutes and 39 seconds to rule the women’s race.
Kenyan Isaac Simat did the same in the men’s side as he clocked 33 minutes and 29 seconds to emerge champion.
Cristy Tutor once again settled for second as she finished in 47:11 while Mary Jane Beboso placed third with a time of 47:19.
Abraham Missous couldn’t catch up with his compatriot as he finished second in the men’s race with a time of 33:29. Tabal’s trainer John Philip Duenas took third place honors with a time of 34:01.
John Daryl Manos and Cherry Andrin topped the 5k race. Manos clocked 16:35 while Andrin finished in 20:34 to take the men’s and women’s titles, respectively.
Joebert Carolino (16:46) and Clyde Sales (18:23) settled for second and third places, respectively.
Andrin’s younger sister, Lovely Fe, was at second place with a time of 22:23 while Vlessica Jagna placed third, clocking 22:34, in the distaff side.
Meanwhile, Jorry Ycong and Mary Joy Loberanis dominated the 3k race with times of 08:42 and 10:43, respectively.
Around 400 runners joined the running event organized by the A-Plus All Weather Paint for the benefit of the Asilo dela Milagrosa orphanage.
Organizer, Pepito Lim said they are planning to stage another running event in Davao soon. He plans to hold races every two years.
