The San Miguel Beermen pulled off a thrilling  66-65 win as Brian Williams scored on a well-executed inbound play with six seconds remaining in the game to down the Indonesia Warriors in Game Two of the Asean Basketball League yesterday at the Ynares Arena in Pasig City.

The win gave the Beermen a commanding 2-0 series lead in this best-of-five series. They have a chance to wrap up the championship in Game Three set on Wednesday at the Mahaka Square in Indonesia.

San Miguel won Game One earlier in the week, 75-70.

The defending champions Warriors appeared to be headed towards the series-equalizer after Fil-Am guard Stanley Pringle scored the last of his 21 points with 22.7 seconds remaining in the game. On their next possession, the Beermen flubbed a chance to take the lead as Leo Avenido missed on a difficult attempt.

The looseball scramble  saw Indonesia import Chris Daniels try to save the ball but failed to do so, giving the ball back to San Miguel with 6.8 ticks remaining.

Curiously, Indonesia called its last timeout after that play, thus giving San Miguel head coach Leo Austria a chance to instruct his wards for a last play. It turned out to be a gem as Williams broke free inside to score the difference-making layup.
