12 soldiers injured in Masbate road accident

MANILA, Philippines—Twelve soldiers of the Philippine Army were wounded in a vehicular incident in Masbate, the military said Friday.

In a belated report Friday, Major Angelo Guzman, spokesman of the Army’s 9th Infantry Division, said that 17 soldiers were onboard a military truck that enountered a “mechanical malfunction” causing the accident in Marcella village, in Uson town around 10 p.m. Thursday.

Eight soldiers   suffered major injuries while four sustained minor injuries. The victims were  rushed to Masbate City Hospital for treatment.
