A man was shot dead by a sports car-riding gunman in barangay Lahug, Cebu City.
Jenrey Flores, 29, a resident of barangay Poblacion, Talisay City, died on the spot due to a gunshot wound in the head.
The victim was identified through an identification card recovered from his possession, police said.
SPO4 Rey Cuyos, homicide investigator of the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO), said the victim had been waiting for the assailant along a road in sitio Maracas past noon yesterday.
Police said the victim was seen sitting on a motorcycle parked by the roadside while talking to someone over the phone.
Later, a man on board a red sports car arrived.
The driver of the sports car approached the victim and suddenly shot him.
Police said it was possible that the victim’s cell phone was taken by the assailant.
Police said witnesses could only remember the “846” numbers in the plate of the car boarded by the gunman.
Joseph Balen, a retired Army soldier who lives in the area, said that three female passersby saw the incident but police could not locate them.
