Simultaneous flag raising to mark Independence Day at SM
SM Supermalls will join the whole nation in commemorating the Philippine independence on June 12.
Mall employees, as well as tenants and affiliates will assemble in their respective malls in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao to sing the national anthem.
In SM City Cebu, the flag-raising ceremony will be at 9 a.m. outside the main mall’s entrance 3 together with guests from the government, employees, tenants, affiliates and various sectors in the community. Sinulog Idol 2012 grand winner Ronna Jenn Lofranco will sing the national anthem.
In SM City Consolacion, the flag-raising ceremony happens outside the mall’s entrance 2. Filipino dishes will be showcased in SM City Cebu and SM Consolacion Foodcourt on June 12.
There will be a folk dance presentation by Cebu Normal University at the Event Centre of SM City Cebu at 11 a.m. and OPM music by Loonie and DJ Raymond at 5 p.m.
Also part of the observance is the unveiling of giant chocolate Philippine flag by SM City Cebu and Ralfe Gourmet tomorrow at the Northwing Atrium. The giant chocolate will be displayed until June 12.
