A 29-YEAR-OLD habal-habal driver was shot dead while buying cigarettes from a public market in barangay Poblacion, Barili town, Cebu.
Rene Sambitan, 29, suffered gunshot wounds in the different parts of the body.
Sambitan was brought to the Barili District Hospital but was declared dead by the attending doctor.
Police said the victim was shot from behind.
Police said the assailant fled on a motorcycle.
SPO3 Elmer Opsima said 10 empty shells for a caliber 9mm caliber pistol were recovered from the crime scene.
Investigation is ongoing to determine the motive of the attack, police said.
