MANILA, Philippines—Roughly one million worth of properties went up in smoke when fire gutted a house in Quezon City Tuesday evening, a city fire officer said.

Fire Officer 3 Sherwin Penafil said blaze struck the house of one Dolores Cruz at St. Ignatius in Quezon City past 9 p.m.
She said the fire reached second alarm before it was put out around 10 p.m.
No one was injured, he said, but a radio report said two vehicles parked at the house’s garage were also affected by the fire.
Authorities have yet to identify the cause of the fire, she said.
