MORTAFLEX kept its record unscathed as it edged Clean Air, 64-61, in the United Architects Basketball Club Season 7 First Conference last Sunday at the Cebu Eastern College gym.
The win allowed Mortaflex to hike its record to 2-0 (win-loss) as it weathered a furious comeback attempt by Clean Air with timely contributions from Paul Sasan, Jodl Dabon, Ferdinand Tiro and Mito Parba.
Sasan had 13, Dabon and Tiro added 12 apiece while Parba had 10 to pace their balanced attack and offset the 30-point performance of Clean Air big man Antonio Decatoria Jr.
Save for Mortaflex, all of the participating teams sport identical 1-1 (win-loss) cards following wins by Coolshades and Healthy Home over their respective opponents.
Coolshades bounced back from their opening-day loss by downing Primeguard, 67-56, behind the stellar showing of the trio of Criz Matunog, Mark Capili and Jun Villacorta.
Healthy Home also rode the offensive brilliance of Michael Cinco to win, 81-77, over Fractalis. /Correspondent Jonas Panerio
