Palace declares Aug. 30 a regular holiday to celebrate end of Ramadan

MANILA, Philippines — Malacañang has declared Aug. 30 a regular holiday so the nation could observe the feast of Ramadan or Eid’l Fitr.

President Aquino issued Proclamation no. 234 setting the holiday in keeping with Republic Act no. 9177, which has declared Eid’L Fitr as a regular holiday throughout the country.

Eid’l Fitr is celebrated by the Muslim world for three days after the end of the month of fasting.
