MANILA, Philippines– Government employees are set to walk out today, Thursday, to demand the approval of a P6000 wage increase, according to a Radyo Inquirer report.
Jen Mendoza, media officer of Courage, said the protest would take place at noon time in front of the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) office in Quezon City.
Mendoza was quoted as saying that this demonstration would culminate in a mass protest on May 1, Labor Day.
To participate in this Thursday’s protest are employees from DAR, Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), National Housing Authority (NHA), National Food Authority (NFA), Sandiganbayan, and Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR).
