Burglars take P300,000 in perfectly-timed caper
She was gone for just 20 minutes but that was enough time for burglars to ransack her room and make off with her valuables.
A building administrator lost nearly P300,000 worth of jewelry plus a laptop computer on Saturday night to thieves who knew exactly when to strike.
Investigators of the Quezon City Police District’s Masambong station said that the burglars got past a security guard.
According to Senior Police Officer 2 Marlon Zabala, Emma Regondola, 55, the administrator of the Gonzales Building at the corner of Edsa and Muñoz Avenue in Quezon City, reported that she lost several pieces of jewelry valued at P200,000, two watches worth over P50,000 and a laptop computer worth P26,000.
Regondola was also a resident of the building. She told the police that she stepped out of her room between 6 p.m. and 6:20 p.m. on Saturday.
When she returned, she found out that someone had broken into her room by destroying the lock.
