AMID the political rivalry between the Durano brothers, Cebu Vice Gov. Agnes Magpale encouraged the people of Danao to speak up.

Magpale said only the people in Danao could tell who their true leader was.

Magpale made the call after expressing dismay at how far the rivalry between the Durano brothers, Mayor Ramon “Boy” Durano Jr. and Vice Mayor Ramon “Nito” Durano III had reached.

She recognized that the COMELEC approval of Nito’s petition for the recall of Boy as part of democratic process, however she was hoping that they would reconcile through cordial means.

As part of the BAKUD Party, Magpale said that she was willing to support Nito in his campaign.

“He knows that being part of the BAKUD Party, I will be backing him up,” she said.

She added that she attests that the signatures gathered by Nito were valid and that they even had precinct numbers on them.

“It was really an honest to goodness signature campaign. He even visited every barangay for two months,” she said. /Correspondent Patricia Andrea Pateña
