1st Cebu Run for the Rivers draws huge attendance, set this Sunday

AROUND A THOUSAND runners have enlisted for this Sunday’s 1st Cebu Run for the Rivers at the SM City-Cebu Northwing grounds.

The running event is one of the events lined up for the Cebu Business Month celebration of the the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI).

The running event aims to campaign for the restoration of the river systems and creeks in Metro Cebu. It is also held to support the government’s “Sagip Ilog” program that will focus on improving the water quality of priority river systems in in Cebu. These are the Bulacao, Buhisan, Guadalupe, Mahiga and Lahug rivers.

The race offers 5-kilometer, 10K and 21K distances. /CORRESPONDENT DALE G. ROSAL
