MANILA, Philippines — An intertropical convergence zone affecting Mindanao will bring cloudy skies and rains there, the state weather bureau said Tuesday.
“Mindanao will experience cloudy skies with light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms,” the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said.
Meanwhile, even as the rainy season has yet to be declared, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to at times cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms mostly over the western section.
Temperatures have also gone cooler as the rainy season nears. Monday’s highest temperature in Metro Manila was only at 33.8 degrees Celsius at 12 noon.
Expected temperatures for Tuesday in Metro Manila would be between 23 and 34 degrees Celsius. For this year’s summer season, the temperature in Metro Manila soared to as high as a sweltering 36.6 degrees Celsius in Metro Manila last April.
Light to moderate winds blowing from the southeast to south will prevail over Luzon and Visayas and coming from the east to northeast over Mindanao, Pagasa said.
The coastal waters throughout the archipelago will be slight to moderate, it added. Frances Mangosing
