STI and ABS-CBN partnered anew in this year’s national elections coverage, “Halalan 2013: Tayo Na!”
Students, teachers and staff of STI Colleges and Education Centers became Bayan Patrollers and were sent to key precincts and regional ABS-CBN offices for Bayan Mo iPatrol Mo (BMPM), the advocacy arm of ABS-CBN.
All five STI Mobile School buses, with state-of-the-art computer laboratories, including more than 20 multimedia computers with Internet access, LCD monitors, sound systems and other top-of-the-line equipment, were deployed to help gather stories from Bayan Patrollers. STI volunteers received and verified reports from the patrollers.
Volunteers prepared for the task by attending workshops and participating in the 18th STI National Youth Convention, led by ABS-CBN journalists Jing Castañeda, Atom Araullo, Nina Corpuz, Jeff Canoy, Tony Velasquez, Chiara Zembrano and BMPM head Inday Espina-Verona.
Monico V. Jacob, STI president and chief executive officer, said the school’s participation was in line with its vision to mold responsible members of society.
