MANILA, Philippines – Two earthquakes hit parts of Luzon early Monday but no damages were recorded, state volcanologists said.
A 4.1 magnitude quake shook Surigao del Norte at 4:40a.m., 113 kilometers northeast of Burgos town. It had a depth of 33 kilometers, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said.
In Oriental Mindoro, a 3.1 magnitude quake hit 17 kilometers northeast of Puerto Galera. It had a depth of 53 kilometers.
Both quakes were tectonic in origin, Phivolcs said.
No aftershocks were also expected from the said quakes.
