The Makati Stock Exchange was created 50 years ago today (Monday). Its merger with the Manila Stock Exchange (established in August 1927) created the country’s current stock exchange, the Philippine Stock Exchange, in December 1992. At present, PSE is the country’s only stock exchange with around 250 listed firms and 132 active participants. It maintains two trading floors, one in Ortigas, Pasig, and the other in Makati.
