San Miguel recovers, ties semis series
THE SAN MIGUEL Beermen bounced back in a big way as they tied their semifinal series with the Sport Rev Thailand Slammers after beating the latter, 91-60, in the Asean Basketball League yesterday at the Ynares Arena in Pasig City.
The Beermen started off strong in the first half behind the torrid shooting of Chris Banchero and reigning league MVP Leo Avenido as they posted a 42-24 lead at the turn.
The Beermen were out to avenge their embarrassing 60-62 loss in Game One last Thursday, a defeat that put an abrupt end to their 16-game winning streak.
Banchero and Val Acuna each had 14 for the Beermen in a balanced scoring display. /Correspondent Jonas Panerio
