Run for BB set today
THE FIFTH RUN for BB kicks off today at the Chong Hua Medical Center parking area.
The running event offers a grueling 25-kilometer, 15k, 5k, 400-meter and 200m distances.
The 25k will be showcasing the best long-distance runners in Cebu. Once again, Kenyans will compete against each other in a separate 25k category.
The 25k route will bring runners up to barangay Busay and back to Banilad and Talamban. Joel Baring of Sports and Fitness Enthusiasts (SAFE) is the race director while the IRC Automation Timing Systems will handle the timing system.
The annual fun run serves as a fund-raising activity of Chong Hua Hospital’s Hematology and Oncology Unit for the treatment and medical assistance of less fortunate children with cancer.
Medals and cash prizes awaits the top 10 finishers of the 25k and top five for the 15k. Timex wrist watches will be given away to the top three winners in the 25k and 15k. The first 300 finishers in the 25k will receive a finisher’s medal. /correspondent dale rosal
