Man arrested in QC for alleged possession of P2.5M of illegal drugs
MANILA, Philippines – A man was arrested after he was caught in possession of P2.5-million worth of illegal drugs following a drug sting in Quezon City before dawn Friday, police said.
Senior Superintendent Richard Albano, Quezon City Police District director, said Jose Vergel Natividad, 56, allegedly entered into a transaction with a supposed buyer for P12,000-worth of cocaine.
Police arrested the suspect at his residence in 64 Kaspiligan Street Barangay (village) Doña Imelda when the buyer handed him the marked money.
Razon said Natividad was allegedly responsible for the spread of illegal drugs in Quezon City, adding that the suspect had been under surveillance for three months.
Also confiscated from Natividad were 288.31 grams of methamphetamine hydrochloride or “shabu”, dried marijuana leaves, 170 grams Marijuana seeds, 50 pieces mogadon tablets, and assorted drug paraphernalia.
Two handguns and ammunition were also recovered.
