Aquino appoints Malolos judge Ringpis-Liban as associate justice of tax court

MANILA, Philippines—President Aquino has appointed Malolos Judge Maria Belen Ringpis-Liban as associate justice of the Court of Tax Appeals.

Ringpis-Liban, 56, replaced Olga R. Palanca-Enriquez, who retired last December.

Before her appointment, Ringpis-Liban was presiding judge of Branch 85 of the Malolos Regional Trial Court (RTC).

She also served as a Quezon City acting presiding judge, Solicitor in the Office of the Solicitor General, and Court of Appeals confidential attorney II.

The President also appointed Teresita O. Hatta as executive director, co-terminus with the appointing authority, of the Central Bank Board of Liquidators; and Aurora Javate-de Dios as Philippine representative to the Asean Commission on the Promotion and Protection of the Rights of Women and Children for Women’s Rights.

Hatta has been with the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas for the last 16 years, serving in various capacities.

All three appointment papers were signed on May 17 by the President.
