Did you know: Pascual Poblete

The late journalist, poet and playwright Pascual Poblete was born on May 17, 1857. Imprisoned a number of times by both Spanish and American authorities because of his liberal writings, he is most remembered for translating Jose Rizal’s novel “Noli Me Tangere” in the vernacular in 1909. He died of a heart attack in Manila on February 5, 1921. Schatzi Quodala, Inquirer Research
