MANILA, Philippines—Recent photos of fugitive former police officer Cezar Mancao were all Photoshopped and were released to “insult” the Department of Justice and the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), Justice Secretary Leila De Lima said Tuesday.

De Lima also called on members of the media not to give Mancao a venue to stage his “stunts.”

Mancao’s photos showed him standing in front of the DOJ main office in Padre Faura, Manila and outside the NBI headquarters in Manila.

“Bakit nyo kasi pinapatulan pa yun. Halata naman na Photoshop yun. Nangdedenggoy na sya. Nakakainsulto na sya,” De Lima told reporters.

Mancao, an accused in the Dacer-Corbito double murder case escaped from his detention facility at the NBI in Manila, granted media interviews and released photographs of him in various places.

While De Lima said the manhunt operation against Mancao is ongoing, she said their current priority is their investigation into the shooting incident in northern Philippines where a Taiwanese fisherman was killed.
