CAMP PACIANO RIZAL, Laguna, Philippines—Police arrested a digital artist in Pagsanjan, Laguna, for selling counterfeit peso and dollar bills.

Arnold Ramos, 32, was arrested in his home in Barangay  Uno around 2:30 a.m. Tuesday in a police entrapment operation.

Senior Superintendent Pascual Munoz, Laguna police director, said in a text message that a policeman posing as a buyer alerted the authorities when Ramos sold him 20 pieces of fake P500 bills for P50 each.

The police seized from the suspects’ home seven pieces of fake $5 bills and several other forged bills in P500, P200 and P100 denominations.

“You could easily detect the fake bills because they were pale-colored,” said Police Officer 2 Norberto Balungaya, case investigator.

The suspect told police he needed money badly, forcing him into the illegal activity. He was charged with illegal possession and use of false treasury or bank notes.
